1 in 7 Women are diagnosed with Breast Cancer in their lifetime. Breast Cancer does not only affect Women but also Men, although stats show it's about 1 in 700 for men.

I could guarantee that everyone has been touched by cancer somehow in their lives, whether that be themselves, a parent, grandparent, cousin, auntie, or uncle. Some have successful treatments and others are still fighting, and sadly some pass. For me, cancer has been a common disease growing up.

My auntie, who is 65,  just recently, has been diagnosed with an aggressive Stage 3 Breast Cancer. She had her regular breast screening in February this year (2024), which came back clear. Then in July 2024 after experiencing occasional vibrating feelings in her left breast, noting that her mobile phone was not in her bra at the time, she pressed on her breast and found a lump. After visiting her GP and then having a referral for a Mammogram and Ultrasound it came back the lump was indicative of a primary breast carcinoma. A biopsy then confirmed the diagnosis.

It is important for everyone, women in particular to self-examine and if they have any concerns to see their GP immediately and to make use of mammograms.
